Our Tournament Coordinators and Game Officials are responsible for the execution of Canlan Classic Tournaments including sign-in, waivers and on-site customer services. They manage the on-site delivery & operations of the tournament.




  Convener duties:

o   Advance teams to appropriate placement in playoff seeding

o   Conduct memorable prizing presentation and awards

o   Work in conjunction with referees

  Timekeeping Duties:

o   Accurately post scores and penalties on website and large arena clock

o   Accurate game sheets

o   Report injuries & suspensions

  Communicate with other Game Officials, Tournament Coordinators & Tournament Managers as needed

  Ensure accurate interpretation and execution of tournament rules and suspensions

  Ensure tournament games run smoothly and on schedule

  Inform teams of any outstanding balances owed, how to pay & any needed lock out situations

Health and Safety

  Adhere to all Risk Management policies and procedures

  Report any unsafe Health & Safety conditions

  Is "WHMIS" and "Workplace Violence" trained

  Is aware and understands implementation of the Facility Emergency Plan, Incident Reports and knows the location and how to use the First Aid Kit, Eye Wash Station and Defibrillator

  Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required

Energy & Environmental Sensitivity

  Ensure consideration for best practices in energy use management and environmental impact are employed

  Provide feedback regarding the event delivery team to the Tournament Manager

  Completed formal education Sports/Leisure Administration field an asset

  Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search required

  Basic First Aid, CPR and AED certification (asset)


  Willingness and ability to work flexible locations and hours (evenings & weekends)

  Hockey knowledge is preferred and considered an asset

  Strong knowledge of Hockey Canada ice hockey rules

  Strong customer service skills (previous experience preferred)

  Good understanding of Tournament draws

  Outgoing, positive and team orientated with great communication skills

  Excellent organisational skills and able to work on the fly

  Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office software (particularly Excel and Word)
